20w-50 oil may be used in all three - Engine, Transmission, and Primary Case as specified by the H-D Motor Company, however Harley Performance recommends using a heavier 75w-90 gear lube in the transmission. Both methods exceed the manufacture's and API specification and will not void any warranty. 1 Harley's new 6-Speed tranmission will benefit from using Severe Gear 75w-140 in the transmission to reduce gear noise. |
